My favourite look from Dior Couture. It was a very Raf Simons collection. Minimal and well-cut… I really loved it, but it’s not singing to me. It looks like ready-to-wear. Simons is a genius, that’s clear… but I still wish with all my heart Galliano hadn’t gone so sideways. I miss his all-out jaw-dropping extravaganzas. I don’t expect geniuses to be nice people, I really don’t… and I understand that incredible creative genius usually comes with a deep and horrible burden of insanity… but years later I’m still reconciling the shitty trail of nauseating hate he spewed with the amazing beauty he created.

See, this is minimalism… but unlike Dior it doesn’t look like ready-to-wear. It looks like a delicate, hand-made one-off.
That first sweater. I’m astonished.

One of my favourite couture shows in history, where every dress was a flower. Seconded only by the Dior Origami show.

GREAT closeup of one of the Giles swan “hats”. And yes, if I got my little paws on one of these babies, I would absolutely wear it to the office and to my meetings.
